The genuineness of Roman cuisine meets Piedmont’s gastronomy.
Two different culinary schools, two traditions, two souls and two chefs.
In the heart of Rome, in a historical and refined restaurant, you will experience an incredible tasting tour.
Among the most antique restaurants in Rome – it was told to be a tavern opened in Esquiline Square on Jubilee 1600 – Massimo D’Azeglio has been one of the leading restaurants of the city since 1875.
Our menu is mainly based on Roman cuisine, including classic dishes such as pasta Cacio e pepe and Roman style artichoke, along with some traditional Piedmontese dishes such as the Gran bollito misto (a selection of mixed boiled meats) and the Bonet pudding.
The speciality of our Piedmontese menu is the Gran bollito misto (a selection of boiled meat). It is served only in winter and on Thursdays.
Alternatively, you can taste many different dishes such as the electric tomino, the Antique Tartra delle Langhe, our homemade tagliatelle with bagna càuda, Plin agnolotti, braised beef in Barolo wine, and for dessert our pear cooked in red wine and the Bonet pudding made with cocoa, caramel and amaretti biscuits.
Plan your exclusive event in the charming wine cellar placed in the basement of our Hotel Massimo D’Azeglio. You will enjoy your dinner surrounded by old barrels and hundreds of ancient wine bottles.
Our Chefs Renzo Di Filippo and Antonio Vitale’s philosophy is to pursue the perfect combination between tradition and innovation.
We are in the heart of Rome in the Esquilino district within walking distance from the historic center of the capital. For all restaurant guests
free parking is available in our garage.
